Mounties in Leduc, Alta. say a woman was pushed into the trunk of her own vehicle and driven to a restaurant parking lot before she was able to call police.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. Monday, Leduc RCMP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle and a possible case of unlawful confinement.

RCMP say a 24-year-old Edmonton woman was lured to a home in the south side where her ex-boyfriend, another man and a woman pushed her into the back of her own vehicle.

She was driven to a remote spot in south Edmonton where the trio demanded she pay back money she allegedly owed one of them, according to RCMP.

Mounties said the abductors threatened to hurt the woman if she didn’t pay them.

The group drove to another location in south Edmonton, RCMP say, before finally stopping in the parking lot of a restaurant in Leduc. That’s where the woman was able to escape and call police, RCMP say.
