Calgary police have charged a man seen in a video going around on social media, which appears to show a scuffle with the officers arresting him Wednesday night at the Calgary Stampede.

It happened just before 10 p.m. outside the Nashville North tent at the Stampede grounds.

Police said they responded to a report of a “belligerent and heavily intoxicated man who was stealing other patrons’ drinks and refusing to leave the premises when confronted by on-site security.”

Security staff tried to throw the man out, but he wouldn’t leave.

Police said when officers tried to remove the man from the premises, he grabbed the handle of one of their Tasers.  They wrestled him to the ground.

A 23-year-old man from England, Daniel Joseph Maguire, is facing charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
