Calgary police say the death of a man found in a burning vehicle in the city’s southeast on Tuesday isn’t criminal in nature.
Emergency crews were called to the 3200 block of 12 Ave. S.E. at around 3:30 p.m. for reports of a vehicle fire. Firefighters found the body inside the vehicle after extinguishing the blaze.
On Tuesday, police said the death was considered suspicious. However, an update from investigators on Wednesday confirmed foul play wasn’t suspected.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine if the death was accidental or a suicide.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
