TORONTO – Two of Canada’s rising young female artists are pairing up for a North American tour this fall.

Pop singer Alessia Cara and newcomer Ruth B plan to hit the road for a 22-city tour starting in late September.

The duo will wind through the United States starting on Sept. 29 before playing their two final shows in Montreal (Nov. 1) and Toronto (Nov. 2).

Dates on the tour include a stop at Radio City Music Hall in New York City (Oct. 4).

Both women have enjoyed a successful year on the Billboard Hot 100. Juno-winner Cara’s biggest hit so far was “Here,” which peaked at No. 5 in February.

Edmonton singer-songwriter Ruth B recently went as high as No. 24 with “Lost Boy,” a song which originally began as a short video on Vine in December 2014. (See below.)

The 20-year-old was inspired to write the song after watching an episode of the television show Once Upon a Time.

“I put the song up on YouTube and that’s when a bunch of labels started reaching out and my email was suddenly flooded with emails from Sony Music, Universal and I was like this can’t be real. This is insane. I’m a student”

The young songstress flew out to New York to meet with music label representatives, signing a contract with Columbia Records in July 2015.
