2 more draft picks sign on with Winnipeg Blue Bombers

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed two more of their recent draft picks on Friday.

Defensive back Taylor Loffler and linebacker Shayne Gauthier both inking their first professional contracts.

Loffler, 24, played with the UBC Thunderbirds last season after previously suiting up for Boise State. In the 2015 season Loffler recorded 50 tackles with two interceptions. The Bombers grabbed Loffler in the third round, 19th overall.

Gauthier, 24, played four seasons with the Laval Rouge et Or. In his senior year Gauthier garnered CIS second team All-Canadian honours. The Bombers used their fourth round selection to take Gauthier 28th overall.

On Wednesday the Blue Bombers announced they had signed three of their draft picks with offensive lineman Zachary Intzandt, defensive lineman Rupert Butcher and linebacker Frank Renaud all agreeing to terms.

Three of their draft picks remain unsigned including their two – second round selections, Trent Corney and Michael Couture. Manitoba Bisons receiver Alex Vitt is also in need of a contract. The Blue Bombers rookie camp begins on May 25.
