RCMP were called to the scene of a fatal crash between a car and a motorcycle on Highway 512 near Coaldale at approximately 9:30 Saturday evening.
Police said both vehicles were travelling eastbound on the highway, when the motorcycle slowed to make a left turn, and was struck from behind by a small vehicle.
A 47-year-old Robert Gary Kern from Lethbridge, who was driving the motorcycle, was transported to hospital in Lethbridge in serious condition and died as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old woman was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Highway 512 has reopened after being shut down for six hours.
Coaldale RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the collision. No charges have been laid at this time.
