A 58-year-old Kelowna area woman is in custody after she allegedly stabbed her spouse in their Joe Rich home early Monday morning.
“Police learned that a woman had to be subdued by her family after she allegedly stabbed her spouse with an edged weapon inside their shared home,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
“Investigators have been told that the victim may have been asleep when he was allegedly attacked by his spouse.”
The 70-year-old victim was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The residence, in the 4600 block of Highway 33 East, is also home to five other people, who were all inside during the attack.
They are in the hands of RCMP victim services as police continue to investigate inside the home.
The accused was taken to hospital for a full medical assessment, but is now in police custody facing potential aggravated assault charges.
