A 44-year-old Hamilton man has been charged in connection with a year-long international child pornography investigation by Interpol in Germany.
In April 2015, Interpol police investigators in Wiesbaden, Germany identified numerous suspects allegedly sharing child sexual abuse images online.
As their investigation proceeded, they determined that one of the suspects was believed to be residing in Ontario.

Interpol turned the investigation over to the Ontario Provincial Police and the Hamilton Police Service.
A search warrant was executed at a residence in the Hamilton community of Ancaster earlier this month and three computers were seized that police said contained child sexual abuse images.
Artur Pawelec, 44, was arrested and charged Saturday with public mischief, accessing child pornography, making available child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.

He was later released on bail with conditions and is scheduled to appear in a Hamilton court on May 6.
Det.-Sgt. Paul Thompson said the investigation is ongoing and that police don’t believe there are any alleged victims from Ontario. He said the images shared were from other parts of the world.
