Toronto police confirm a 47-year-old Toronto transit bus driver sought on child pornography charges has been found dead.

Ontario Provincial Police located the body of a man in the Haliburton County area northeast of Toronto on Monday and confirmed the man’s identity on Tuesday.

Police say they are not treating his death as suspicious.

Darren Padilla, formerly known as Darren Laite, was sought on two counts of possession child pornography and access child pornography.

“The TTC offers its sincerest condolences to Mr Padilla’s family and friends,” the Toronto Transit Commission said in a brief statement.

Police say a search warrant was issued last Thursday in Toronto where it was alleged he was accessing and storing child sexual abuse images and videos on his computer.

Investigators had also released a description of a vehicle and licence plate.

Police had warned the public not to approach the man as he was considered armed and dangerous.
