Boundaries: Dawson Trail is a rural riding, directly southeast of the city of Winnipeg. It’s bordered by the La Verendyre riding to the east, Steinbach to the south and Morris and the Red River to the west. Communities in the riding include Ste. Anne, Île-des-Chênes, Lorette, Grane Pointe, Landmark and St. Adolph.
Last Election: Ron Lemieux defeated Progressive Conservative candidate Larry Tetrault by 737 votes, 52 to 43 per cent.
History: A new riding in Manitoba created by redistribution in 2008 out of parts of Morris and La Verendrye. Veteran Manitoba NDP cabinet minister Ron Lemieux resigned from his position in March 2016.
