A new website was launched over the weekend that offers the public a chance to send messages to councillor and former Toronto mayor Rob Ford as he continues his battle with cancer.

It was announced last week that Ford is undergoing another round of chemotherapy at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The councillor was diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer known as pleomorphic liposarcoma in September 2014.

Following an aggressive round of treatment, Ford underwent surgery to remove the tumour last May.

In October, he suffered a setback when it was discovered that he had two cancerous growths on his bladder.

“A big part of the battle is staying positive and listening to other stories that people have been fighting cancer, or any disease similar to that,” said Ford’s brother Doug.

“It really picks someone’s spirits up and we’re very grateful as a family and I know Rob is very, very grateful as well for all the well wishes and prayers and thoughts.”
