Saskatchewan election results 2016: Sask. Party wins Swift Current riding

Brad Wall of the Sask. Party has won the Swift Current riding with 5,898 votes beating out the NDP’s Hailey Clark who got 1,083 votes.

Boundaries: The boundaries of this riding surround the city of Swift Current, which is in the centre. It stretches north on Waker Road and south on 11th Avenue SW, then west past 19th Avenue NW and east on Trans-Canada Highway 1 and the South Service Road.

Last Election: Saskatchewan Party Incumbent Brad Wall defeated NDP candidate Aaron Ens by 4,798 votes, 81 per cent to 16 per cent.

History: Sasaktchewan Premier Brad Wall became MLA in this riding in 1999. From 1991 to 1995, NDP held this riding, with John Penner from 1991-1995 and John Wall from 1995-1999. Two premiers have been elected from this riding, Wall and Thomas Walter Scott, the first premier of Saskatchewan.
