It took several months but police arrested two men connected with a rash of marine-related crimes in the Vancouver area and outlying communities.
The Vancouver Police Department’s marine unit has been working closely with the Bowen Island, North Vancouver and Squamish RCMP detachments to investigate crimes targeting marinas, anchored boats in local harbours and remote properties on Howe Sound Islands.
The work resulted in arrests and the recovery of stolen boats, marine equipment, clothing, personal property and firearms.
Jeremy Edward Donald Walker, 35, and Liam Eric Fell, 39, have been charged with several firearms and property-related offences.
While police were able to identify and return some of the property to owners, efforts are continuing to return the remaining items to their rightful owners.
Police are also reminding boat owners to secure their boats properly, report suspicious marine activity and to not leave any items of value on their boats.
The Vancouver marine unit is asking anyone who recognizes any of the stolen items in the photos to contact them at 604-717-2791.
