TORONTO – As Canadians headed to the polls Monday, potential voters were unable to access Elections Canada’s website.

Just after polling stations opened in much of the country, several potential voters tried logging onto Elections Canada website, with no success.

Several people on social media reported Internet error 404 when trying to reach the website.

Just before 10:10 a.m. a “server is too busy” error appeared on electionscanada.ca.

Both homepages in French and English appeared to be down.

Elections Canada tweeted in English “We’re experiencing high volumes of traffic on our website. We appreciate your patience.”
