CALGARY – Officers have arrested three people after a lengthy investigation that saw over 200 weapons seized from a northeast home earlier this month.
Some of the items seized include:
- Four modified shotguns – two loaded – with various ammunition
- Over 20 replica firearms
- Four compound bows and one crossbow
- 194 edged weapons, ranging from sharpened swords to throwing knives
- Approximately $50,000 in stolen tools
- Various amounts of marijuana and cocaine
The items seized by police were found inside a home in the 0-100 block of Pinelore Place N.E. on Oct. 1.
It’s alleged the location was being used as a so-called “fence house” where stolen property would be traded for narcotics, mainly marijuana and cocaine.
Police have charged Tanner Ray Lang, 32, Jan-Anne Marie August, 24, and Mark Lee Gardner, 41 with multiple stolen property, drugs and weapons-related offences.
Investigators say the arrests are part of a larger commitment by the Calgary Police Service to target violent offenders and stem criminal activity in the city’s northeast.
Officers are now attempting to return the stolen items to their rightful owners.
