The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has issued an evacuation alert for 38 properties in Birken due to rain predicted to hit the area.
The threat of rain could mean an increased risk of debris flows and flooding.

This alert comes four days after mudslides hit northeast of Pemberton, causing power outages and evacuation alerts.
