VERNON – A north Okanagan teen charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Jason Hardy, 42, appeared in a Vernon courtroom Wednesday morning via video link.
Brandon Wellington, 18, and a 14-year-old boy who cannot be named because of his age, were taken into RCMP custody on August 31, 2015 and have since been charged with second-degree murder.

During Wellington’s court appearance Wednesday a no contact order was granted preventing him from contacting the 14-year-old and two other people.
Wellington remains in custody and is expected to appear in court again next Wednesday.
Hardy’s body was found in Vernon’s Polson Park on August 26.
