PIERREFONDS-ROXBORO – The father of a murdered 24-year-old woman received two campaign phone calls asking for his late daughter’s vote for the Conservative Party.
John Drummond received a call in May from Valerie Assouline asking for his daughter, Kelly-Anne Drummond.
She was killed in October 2004 by her boyfriend.

Drummond angrily explained the situation to Assouline and demanded his daughter’s name be taken off the candidate’s list of eligible voters.

But in July, a campaign worker called him again.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
“It was just a slap in the face.”
According to Assouline, the mistake occurred because the electronic list of voters from Elections Canada was out-of-date; paper versions of the list were still being used by campaign workers.
Kelly-Anne Drummond was murdered almost 11 years ago by boyfriend Martin Morin-Cousineau, who is currently serving a life sentence.
