PIERREFONDS, Que. — Every month, Doreen Haddad makes a special trip to Grier Park in Pierrefonds.
It’s where she spends some “quiet time” with her murdered daughter.
A special memorial has been set-up in the middle of the West Island park to honour victims of violence, including 24-year-old Kelly-Anne Drummond.
Ten years ago last month, Drummond was murdered by her boyfriend inside their Pierrefonds apartment.
On October 4, 2004, the young woman was stabbed in the head with a steak knife.
She was removed from life-support the next day.
Martin Morin-Cousineau was convicted of second-degree murder and received a life sentence.
He’s eligible for full parole in 2017, but Haddad recently found out Morin-Cousineau wants to get out sooner to live in a halfway house.
Haddad said she believes the now 40-year-old remains “a danger to society.”

“I’m scared for him meeting a young woman who doesn’t know him and falls for this guy,” Haddad told Global News.
“I don’t want to see another victim.”
In his time behind bars, Morin-Cousineau has been charged with several offences.
In October 2006, he was disciplined with possessing an “unauthorized item”.
In September 2007, he was involved in a number of fights with other inmates.
In December 2011, he was charged with using drugs.
Haddad said there’s more.
She said Morin-Cousineau once signed up for a prison therapy program to deal with anger issues; he dropped out three days later.
“I’m scared, I’m really scared for the general public,” Haddad noted.
Prominent victims’ rights advocate Michel Surprenant agrees.
“This guy is still dangerous, he has not shown any effort to rehabilitate,” Sureprenant said.
Haddad plans on voicing her concerns at the parole hearing scheduled for November 27 in the Eastern Townships.
November 28 also happens to be Kelly-Anne Drummond’s birthday.
