A house fire has badly damaged a home in Port Coquitlam, but it looks like everyone inside was able to escape flames.
The two-alarm fire broke out on McChessney Street, just north of Colony Farm Regional Park, around 1 a.m.
Crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke shooting out of the building and up into the attic.
Firefighters say it looks like the fire started outside the house, but it’s too early to say what caused the blaze.
It appears no one was hurt.
“Everyone got out safely, and there are no firefighter injuries at this time,” Acting Department Chief Rob Trousdale told Global News.
Trousdale says there is extensive damage to the house and the fire is currently under investigation.
