On Monday, RCMP announced the driver of the Ford F150 had passed away, while a passenger in the vehicle has since been released from hospital.

Investigators believe the now deceased driver of the Ford F150 was responsible for the collision, and say they had been considering laying multiple charges against him prior to his death. An autopsy confirmed he had consumed alcohol and drugs.

The occupants in the Dodge are still recovering from their injuries, which are significant but not life-threatening.
