Crews attacked the fully involved fire from the outside of the home to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby cars and trees.
A few trees did catch fire, but firefighters were able to douse the flames quickly.
A witness says the homeowners made it out with only the clothes on their backs and their dogs.
