TORONTO — Toronto Police say they have located the backhoe sought in the investigation into the disappearance of a missing 22-year-old Missisauga man.

Toronto Police homicide Det. Dave Dickinson told Global News that while the backhoe has been found, police still need the public’s help.

“Our investigation is continuing and I am still appealing to the public for their assistance in helping me identify the route of travel between Wainfleet and Niagara falls,” Dickinson said.

Police believe Shawn Kapadia, 22, was killed on July 5 at 7 Foundry Ave., near the intersection of Davenport and Dufferin, in Toronto.

He added that the investigation then led police to 50843 O’Reilly’s Rd. S in Wainfleet, Ont., where Kapadia’s car was located with the assistance of Niagara Regional Police.

Dickinson said Wednesday that on July 11, an older model John Deere backhoe was observed attending the O’Reilly’s address in Wainfleet, before leaving the address on July 12 in the afternoon carrying a large block of concrete in the front bucket.
