A 22-year-old University of British Columbia engineering student has died after attending a music festival in Washington State.
Vivek Pandher was at the Paradiso Festival, an electronic dance music festival, at the Gorge Amphitheatre last month. The BC Coroners Service says he fell ill on June 27 and was taken to a hospital in Wenatchee. Due to the severity of his illness, he was transferred back to B.C. and admitted to Vancouver General Hospital on June 30.
He passed away last week.
His cause of death is still under investigation and authorities in B.C. are working closely with investigators in Washington State to determine what happened.
Pandher is the second young person to die after being at the festival this year. A 22-year-old man from Portland passed away on June 28. His death is also under investigation.
