The Wheat Kings made it all the way to the Western Hockey League final last season and will be returning 18 players in the fall.

“With our team expected to contend this season, I felt I owed it to the group to stay here and try to help us take the next step” McCrimmon said.

The current WHL executive of the year, McCrimmon has been with the club since getting hired as an assistant in 1988. He took over the G.M. duties the following year and has held the position ever since. He’s also had three different stints as head coach most recently going back behind the bench in 2013.
