EDMONTON – A 30-year-old woman is dead after a motorcycle collision in west Edmonton Saturday night.

The woman was riding with a group of motorcyclists in the area of Yellowhead Trail and Anthony Henday Drive when she lost control on the northbound exit ramp. Police say she went into an embankment and hit the underside of the overpass.

“She was the tail end of the group and as I understand it the group that she was riding with, as a factor of them being in the front, they didn’t actually observe the incident as it occurred,” said Cst. Darren Sunley with the EPS Major Collision Investigation Unit.

“They turned around and came back when she wasn’t with them at the end of the ramp.”

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries. She was treated by EMS on scene and taken to hospital where she died a short time later.
