SUMMERLAND — Penticton Search and Rescue (PENSAR) were called into action yesterday afternoon to save a man in medical distress near the Kettle Valley Railway trestle by Trout Creek.
The PENSAR helicopter team and a rescue truck with a 6-person support team went out in search of the victim.

Once in the air, the helicopter team quickly spotted the 40-year-old man, who from the aircraft appeared unresponsive. Two rescuers were lowered down to the victim and by the time they reached the man he was conscious and responsive.
The man was airlifted to safety then transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
