REGINA – For just $60 and a bit of luck, someone will buy a dream home in Pilot Butte.

The STARS lottery launched Thursday at the $1.5 million grand prize home. The other grand prize is a home in Saskatoon, valued at the same amount.

The money raised from the lottery will ensure STARS helicopters remain in the air.

The service is seen as vital to people in time-sensitive emergencies. The STARS ability to get patients to help quickly is invaluable, as John Froese found out.

He was in a car accident last year and is grateful to STARS for getting him to a hospital so quickly.

“STARS got me to Regina General in less than ten minutes, and that’s basically what saved my leg,” said Froese. “If it had been any longer they may have had to amputate.”
