KELOWNA – Driver inexperience may be a factor in a single vehicle roll over crash in Kelowna.
Emergency crews were called over the lunch hour Friday to Trumpeter Road in the upper Mission neighbourhood.
A SUV had gone off the road and tumbled over a small embankment with the vehicle coming to rest on its side.
The driver and passenger are both 16 year old girls.
Captain Allan Lipkovits of the Kelowna Fire Department says the cause of the crash is unknown.
“There’s no way to really determine. They say they were going slow. It’s a dirt road. Maybe inexperience. (she is) a brand new driver,” say Lipkovits.
The two girls were checked by ambulance paramedics for minor injuries.
