REGINA – A Regina man is facing assault charges after he broke into a home and assaulted the owner.
On Monday night police were called to a house in the 300 block of 19th Avenue. A suspect initially said that he was a victim of a robbery, but once police were en-route the situation changed and the suspect begin assaulting the 50-year-old male resident at the house.
When police arrived the struggle moved out of the house and into the back yard with the suspect allegedly threatening and assaulting both residents of the house by throwing chunks of concrete at them.
Police were able to get the man into custody and neither resident of the house was seriously hurt.
30-year-old Randy Brent Hilderman of Regina is charged with Break and Enter, Commit Common Assault and Assault with a Weapon.
Hilderman made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
