HIGH RIVER, Alta. – Alberta Wildrose Leader Brian Jean is promising he’ll speed up disaster claims if his party wins the May 5 election.

Jean used a neighbourhood slated for demolition in flood-ravaged High River to make his announcement.

He said there are still 700 claims outstanding from floods that swept through southern Alberta almost two years ago.

High River was particularly hard hit and the entire town had to be evacuated.

Jean says a Wildrose government would deal with outstanding claims immediately.

The party would also commit to buy from local contractors and bring in audits to prevent profiteering.
