Two charged in Saskatchewan First Nation assault, robbery

KAMSACK, Sask. – Two people have been charged after an aggravated assault on a Saskatchewan First Nation. The assault happened Wednesday evening on the Keeseekoose First Nation.

RCMP were called to a residence on the First Nation near Kamsack for a report of a stabbing. A man was found with significant stab wounds and a woman had been assaulted.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation led Mounties to another residence on the First Nation where they arrested a man and a woman.

Tyson Keshane, 30, and Melissa Cote, 28, are charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, break and enter, disguise with intent to commit an offence and possession of a controlled substance.

Both were scheduled to appear in Yorkton provincial court on Friday.

Kamsack is approximately 330 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
