Police search for St. Albert attempted armed robbery suspect

EDMONTON — St. Albert RCMP are searching for a man who attempted to rob a gas station with a gun.

During the early morning hours on Saturday, March 7, a man walked into an Esso service station on Giroux Road in St. Albert. He pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

However, when the store clerk refused to the demand, the suspect ran out of the store.

An RCMP dog was called in and Edmonton Police Service Air One flew in to help find the suspect, but he wasn’t located.

Police described the suspect as:

  • A white male with a skinny build who was approximately 6’0″
  • Believed to be in his early 20s
  • Was wearing a grey zip up hoodie, light coloured track pants, white running shoes and a green mask
