WATCH: Investigators in Coquitlam are trying to figure out what sparked an early morning fire that has destroyed a home, and damaged two others. But as Grace Ke reports, everyone managed to get out safely.
Fire crews in Coquitlam are cleaning up after a house fire that’s caused a roof collapse and left seven people homeless.
The home on Dawes Hill Road went up in flames early this morning.
The blaze forced closure of a number of streets in Dawes Hill Road area.
Dep. Chief Rod Gill with Coquitlam Fire department told Global News the fire is now under control, but 17 people have been displaced.
There are no reports of any injuries at this time, but there was exterior damage to a few neighbouring homes.
Fire investigators are on the scene, but the exact cause is still unknown.
