Regina police deal with multiple overnight assaults

It was a hectic night for Regina police.

On top of charging numerous impaired drivers, officers were also called to various violent offences.

Robinson Street Assaults

Two assaults happened on Robinson Street near 3rd Avenue.

The first occurred just after midnight Saturday.

When police arrived, they found an injured 31-year-old man suffering from a serious head injury. As of Saturday afternoon, he is still in hospital.

Two men are in custody and have charges pending against them in relation to this attack.

Another incident in the area happened around 2:15 a.m. Two men attacked another and sent him to hospital with unknown injuries. Police say those men have been charged.

14 Avenue Stabbing 

In another incident, police responded to a weapons offence on 14th Avenue near King Street.

Two men had been fighting and police say one man was stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries but was treated and released.

Victoria Avenue Machete Possession

Police received a call about a man and woman walking along Victoria Avenue, carrying a machete.

They have both been arrested.

McDonald Street B&E

At about 1:10 a.m. police were dispatched to McDonald Street and 14th Avenue for a violent break-and-enter.

On scene, officers found a 25 year old man, suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital.

The suspects have not been caught and police continue to investigate.
