Merritt protesters threatening full-blown roadblock

Protesters in Merritt, angry about the shipping of biosolids from the Central Okanagan are threatening to turn up the heat. First nations and local residents are angry about the lack of consultation dealing with the composting and spreading of biosolids.

Residents say the smell is affecting their quality of life, not to mention water quality concerns. On Thursday, local band chiefs indicated they’re taking a serious look at setting up a full-blown roadblock on Highway 8 if the government doesn’t take action. Kelly Hayes reports.
