EDMONTON — A cyclist sustained minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle RCMP say was stolen.

Red Deer RCMP officers found a stolen vehicle shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday. Police turned on their emergency lights but the Toyota Corolla took off at “a high rate of speed.”

The officers didn’t chase the vehicle for public safety reasons, but tracked it from some distance away as RCMP vehicles prepared to intercept the vehicle.
