Since November, around a dozen postal workers were attacked, threatened with knives and scissors before being robbed of their keys in order to steal several parcels – some of which included passports and credit cards.
The suspect is expected to appear in court this afternoon.
Union officials have stated in the past they are worried that the arrival of community mail boxes will make it a lot easier for people to attack letter carriers.
