WINNIPEG — A fire at 617 Elgin Avenue spread to a neighbouring home late Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the blaze shortly before 5 p.m. The fire spread from 617 Elgin Ave, believed to be vacant, to the roof of neighbouring 615 Elgin.
The blaze seen from Global Winnipeg’s roof camera just after 5 p.m. caught two thick plumes of smoke coming from the homes.
Fire crews have been rotating crews to keep as warm as possible while fighting the blaze in the frigid temperatures.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and it isn’t known if anyone was in the home at the time.
