KELOWNA – The main pool at the Parkinson Recreation Centre has re-opened for most activities.
It was shut down Sunday because a mechanical malfunction affected the pool’s filtration system causing the water to become cloudy.
The issue has now been resolved.
“While the water clarity did not pose any health concerns, the closure was necessary to maintain a safe facility,” says city spokesperson Jim Gabriel in a news release. “Lifeguarding standards require a certain level of water clarity.”
Some swim lessons and aquatic fitness classes remain cancelled Wednesday as the pool temperature regulates.
The malfunction did not affect the tot pool or the hot tub.
