CALGARY – Police have released more details about a shooting outside of a northeast pub last year.
Officers were called to Mr. Schnapps, in the 1400 block of 52nd Street N.E., on Sunday, October 15th.
Investigators say several people were thrown out of the bar after an altercation, but continued to argue outside.
At one point, one of the men involved pulled out a handgun and fired several shots.
One of the bullets hit a man in the leg, while the others entered the bar. During the gunfire, one of the patrons inside Mr. Schnapps was injured by flying glass.
Police later issued a warrant for the arrest of 26-year-old Ramin Dadkhuda.
He was arrested at the end of October and charged with multiple weapons offences, as well as two counts of aggravated assault.
The Calgary Police Service announced the charges on Friday, after the conclusion of several operations by their Guns and Gangs Unit.
“Since October of last year, we’ve been quite busy suppressing violence and investigating a series of shootings,” said Sgt. Jason Walker.
“We’re just taking some time now to catch our breath and share some of the investigative success that we’ve had.”
