CALGARY – We now know the date that an enormous slip-and-slide will be coming to Calgary.

The 300 meter-long waterslide is part of a travelling event called Slide the City.

Organizers are visiting cities across the U.S. and Canada to host family-friendly water parties featuring ‘the biggest slip-and-slide ever to hit asphalt.’

The wet and wild event will be coming to Calgary on Saturday, August 1st, according to the Slide the City website.

Participants will be given a wristband that allows them to slide down the soapy wet vinyl at least once.

They’ll also be given a mouth guard and a water gun, but have to bring their own inflatable tube.

It’s unknown at this point where in Calgary the event will be held.

Although Calgary was originally listed as the only city in Alberta which would host a Slide the City event, it now appears Edmonton and Fort McMurray will also take part.

The first-ever Slide the City event was held in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2014.

There were 3,000 tickets available and the event sold out.
