REGINA – An early morning domestic assault call to the 900 block of Broder Street ended in an officer with the Regina Police Service deploying a taser.

The 4:20 a.m. call led police to a home on Hunt Crescent, where a 45-year-old man was carrying what police call an edged weapon.

Officers say the man refused to drop the weapon and allegedly proceeded to fight with police.

One of the officers used a conducted energy weapon (CEW), commonly known as a taser, on the man. He was then brought to hospital.

Police say charges are likely.
