MONCTON – Codiac RCMP are warning about a rash of thefts from vehicles in Riverview and Moncton early Monday morning.
In a media release sent out today, police say they received several reports of thefts on Wallace Court and Country Club Road in Riverview, and Maple Street and Mark Avenue in Moncton.
They don’t know if the same thief or thieves committed all of the thefts. A number of windows were broken, and valuables including a wallet, purse, laptop and GPS were stolen.
Police say they’re aware of a total of six vehicles that have been broken in to, but ask anyone who hasn’t reported a similar theft to do so right away.
RCMP advise either removing valuables or making sure they’re out of sight while vehicles are unattended. They also suggest parking in well-lit areas and always locking your car doors.
Anyone with any information regarding these thefts is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at http://www.crimenb.ca or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
