2 people unaccounted for after house fire on Sask. First Nation

AHTAHKAKOOP FIRST NATION, Sask. – Two people are missing after a house fire on a Saskatchewan First Nation. Emergency crews were called to the fire on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Monday morning.

There were reports four people may have been trapped inside the house. Investigators confirmed two men made it out safely. Both are being treated for smoke inhalation.

Crews are still working on locating a 61-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy from the First Nation who were believed to be inside the home at the time of the fire. Their names have not been released.

Fire departments from neighbouring communities were called in to help fight the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Ahtahkakoop First Nation is approximately 170 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
