CALGARY – Road conditions remain slick on the Trans-Canada Highway near Lake Louise, but have improved.
Early on Wednesday morning, Alberta 511 cautioned that travel on Highway 1 wasn’t recommended near Lake Louise due to heavy snowfall and roads that were covered in snow and ice.
However, by 10 a.m. MST the website had updated to say roads were only partly covered, and their travel advisory had been lifted.
Meanwhile, the Drive BC website says Highway 1 has slippery sections in both directions near the Alberta/B.C. border.
Drive BC also says avalanche control will be taking place from the west boundary of Glacier National Park to the east boundary of Glacier National Park between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
Delays of up to two hours are expected.
