EDMONTON – After a woman reported being sexually assaulted by a male masseur, Edmonton police are asking any other victims to come forward.
Officers responded to Stillpoint Wellness Centre and Chi Spa at 112 Street and Jasper Avenue on Friday, Dec. 5. It was reported that at 1 p.m. that day, a woman was there for a massage appointment. During the massage, she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a male masseur.
The woman left the spa and called police.
“We are looking to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect,” said EPS detective Rochelle Going. “If there are others who have experienced something similar at this establishment, the EPS encourages them to come forward with information.”
The suspect is described as an Asian male in his mid to late 50s, with dark, short hair and a small moustache. He was wearing a green T-shirt, jeans, a long, shiny coat with snap buttons and blue Croc style shoes at the spa. Police say he may go by the name “Mr. Wang.”
“The suspect may have also operated out of other businesses or private residences,” said Going.
Any additional complainants or anyone who can help police identify the suspect is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
