EDMONTON — A knife-brandishing thief, dubbed the “Blizzard Bandit” by police, is a wanted man in Edmonton. Detectives believe he’s responsible for “a criminal storm” of 15 robberies, most of which occurred during or on the heels of the city’s first big snowfall this season.

All but one of the robberies are said to have happened at gas stations and convenience stores in south Edmonton. The remaining one took place in the north end.

In several of the incidents, the suspect reportedly threatened to stab staff, and physically forced them back to their cash registers if they were in another part of the store.

It’s believed the suspect would flee the scene on foot and then get into a nearby vehicle. But investigators currently don’t have a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
