Alcohol factor after pedestrian struck by vehicle

SASKATOON – A man is recovering after he was hit by a vehicle in Saskatoon Wednesday evening. It happened just before 8 p.m. on Idylwyld Drive.

Police were called to the 3500-block of Idylwyld Drive after someone reported a man was lying on the road. Responding officers determined he had been struck by a vehicle.

The 59-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police were contacted by the driver of the vehicle man moments later. He had pulled over a short distance from the collision.

No charges have been laid and police continue to investigate. Alcohol is believed to be a factor on the part of the pedestrian.
