Five facing evade police and weapons charges

REGINA – Two adults and three youths are facing charges after evading police multiple times during a chase through Regina Tuesday morning.

Police spotted a vehicle being driven erratically on Argyle Street northbound from 6th Ave. Police tried to stop the vehicle but it took off, and officers discontinued following after a short time due to safety concerns.

A short time late,r another officer spotted the vehicle on 9th Ave north heading westbound on Ring Road from Winnipeg Street. The vehicle once again was able to evade police.

A short time later a K-9 officer spotted the vehicle going northbound on Elphinstone St, heading to Argyle Street north. The officers once again followed the vehicle and the vehicle evaded police reaching speeds of up to 100km/h.

Officers once again turned off lights and sirens, but called for backup to cordon the neighbourhood. They located the vehicle stopped in Argyle Park and when police approached, three of the people in the vehicle fled on foot. All five were arrested by police nearby.

Eighteen year-old Tyler Earl Ellis-Thomson of Moose Jaw is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon (Baton) and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Bear Spray), and Evade Police.

Moneeka Debbie Redstar, 19, of Regina and the three minors who cannot be named are also facing a slew of charges.
